Telecom? More like Bor-a-com!

Just kidding! We don't know enough about bor-a telecommunications to call it boring but the industry has recently made the news with a lawsuit being filed against AT&T by the District of Columbia.

Apparently, D.C. believes that one mans junk is another mans jewels and is trying to turn that belief into law. How do we say this in a way that doesn't make you scroll away from this post?

.....

....

It's impossible. Sorry. So if you're still reading, basically if you buy a calling card and don't use all the minutes.. it's pure profit for AT&T (it's called "breakage"), there's a lot of it, and the government wants a piece.

So they are suing for it. They want companies to have to report these calling cards/gift cards as unclaimed property under law so they can then be recovered by the District in the form of cassh mon-AAAAYY.

whew, you made it.

Thoughts???

ps. that's the D.C. flag, who knew??
