The National Enquirer is reporting that Elizabeth Edwards told one of her close friends that her husband, former presidental candidate for the democratic nomination John Edwards, beat her during a fight that ultimately ended their marriage.

While Elizabeth Edwards has dealt with a lot in the past couple of months, according to the National Enquirer's imagination just kidding we totally believe this story source, this was the last straw.

"When he (John) made the decision to hit me, it was over.", commented Elizabeth by way of the source.
