Even More Respect for Nodar Kumaritashvili
Multiple media outlets are reporting that Nodar Kumaritashvili, the luger who died on his fastest run this past week at the Winter Olympics, called his father just a few days before to tell him that he was, "scared of one of the turns on the track".
In response to his concerns, his father advised him to "put his legs down on the ice" to slow himself down, but true to champion form Kumaritashvili was committed to finishing each run as fast as he could.

I learned a lot from reading the article. Nodar Kumaritashvili’s death is a tragedy! Luge looks like such a neat sport, but also very dangerous at the same time. His death will cast a pall over these Olympic Games. The safety of the sport definitely needs to be addressed appropriately and immediately.
