Well known Italian chef and food writer, Beppe Bigazzi, 77, urged viewers of a italian cooking show to try Casserole of Cat. He commented that the dish was very popular in his home town, and he also said that, "I’ve eaten it myself and it’s a lot better than many other animals. Better than chicken, rabbit or pigeon.” He also included that in order to make sure the cat meat is at it's best, it should be “soaked in spring water for three days”.
Animal rights groups are furious, and Bigazzi has been suspended from the network indefinitely.
