China intends to kill 3 more Japanese men who were arrested on drug smuggling charges. While the Chinese and the Japanese have enjoyed pretty good relations for about 30 years, China has explained that they're not really concerned about diplomacy right now. They are cracking down on drugs, and it's their country so... you smuggle you die.
Japan has expressed concerns, but ultimately left it to the Chinese, saying, "Each country has its own laws and legal system and the death sentences were given under that (framework)."
