Dartmouth College In Salt Lake City

We were wearing a Dartmouth sweatshirt this morning at the gym and here's what we learned:

1. 3 people at the gym have parents who worked at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center

2. 1 guy was born at Hitchcock, and was a pre-me, born 6 weeks before his due date, and the doctors were really scared. Then he lived in Boston but thinks about Hitchcock everyday because he's so grateful.

3. 2 people are "pretty sure" it's pronounced DartMOUTH like "don't talk with your mouth full" as opposed to "plymouth rock".

And the last thing we learned was that we didn't need to be wearing a sweatshirt in the middle of the summer if we didn't want to make small talk about it.

So serves us right.

ps. New Hampshire is so beautiful.

Really Not Funny Prank Obviously Done By College Freshman

No offense to college freshman or anything, we've all been there...or we all should have been there/should be there at some point, ANYWAY, you've got to watch this clip. It's the worst prank ever.

Also, what do you think about the people just following them around? And listen to the conversations in the background.

Side note: We just read the comments on the YouTube page with this video and one person said, "we just watched this 5 times and are trying to hold back tears from laughing so hard"

What?? Why???

Another comment said that the kids sound like they are on sesame street. We don't get that one either, but we feel like it's more accurate.

Do you think it's funny?

The Statue Of Liberty Went To Dartmouth; Welcomes Haiti

Part of Dartmouth College's "Haiti Response" is allowing displaced Haitian students to apply through (the usually very very late date) of April 15th.

So no, the statue didn't actually go to Dartmouth, but it is green, so that's basically the same thing.

what?

'Keggy The Keg' Featured On The Huffington Post!

We're sure this isn't the publicity that Dartmouth College is looking for, but they'll take what they can get. Keggy (Dartmouth's unofficial mascot) has made the list of The Huffington Post's '13 Weirdest Mascot's", coming in at a respectable #9, Huffpuff explains that some Dartmouth kids created Keggy as a response to campus controversy over the racially insensitive mascot of the Dartmouth Indian.

From what we remember, Keggy would go to games and fans would take pictures with him, but the official mascot was and is still "The Big Green".

Oh really?

ps. Actually one time, Keggy was kidnapped from his owners, and there were all of these pictures up around campus of a beaten up Keggy. He had a black eye with and his arms were torn off etc. It was pretty funny, and I think the owners had to make a new one.

Chile Waits For Its Remake Of 'We Are The World'

Dartmouth College is looking for it too, what do you think about what this student (Chris Talamo) has to say?

Dartmouth College Alumni Magazine

This month's issue of 'Dartmouth Alumni Magazine' has a picture of former Treasury Secretary, Hank Paulson (Dartmouth graduate '68). The quote from Paulson reads, "I was glad I was Treasury Secretary. And I'm really glad I'm not Treasury Secretary anymore."

Are you glad too?

Harvard Professor Can't Handle His Chocolate

Unsuprisingly, Harvard Professor David Edwards has created a smellable version of chocolate.

The new product, Le Whif, comes in a container the size of a lipstick tube, and is meant to be inhaled (similar to an asthma inhaler)... Wait.. chocolate in your lungs??? Lemme check that again...

Yes, we had it right the first time, chocolate inhaled into your lungs. The article boasts that you can open it, take a whif and then save the rest for later. "There are 8 or 10 puffs per Whif"

Sounds really good and safe. Thanks Harvard!

Google Buys Yale; For $5

Get your money back Google!!!

Ok, calm down Bulldogs, we're just kidding! Google is not buying Yale, but they will become the new email host for the Connecticut based university. The article quotes some students rambling about disc space and gigabytes but it's really not that interesting!

xoxo!
